A FORGOTTEN PART OF FRANCE...
Many of our guests end up spending most of their stay at the house, and it's easy to see why. With its peaceful atmosphere, ever-changing views, river for swimming or kayaking, cozy fireplace, creative workshops, and beautiful walks, it's the perfect place to slow down and recharge.
But if you're ready to explore, this often-overlooked corner of France has plenty to offer: stunning natural sites, local artisans, markets, historic towns, charming villages, delicious gastronomy, and, of course, wonderful flea markets and brocantes.
We've gathered our favourite places - many of them hidden gems you won't find in the guidebooks - and we're always happy to help you plan your perfect day out.

OUR STORY
The story of Maison La Lanterne began in 2021 when we fell in love with this beautiful house, its stunning views, and the charm of Franche-Comté. We left city life behind to create a retreat where guests can slow down, recharge, and discover this unspoilt corner of France.
With backgrounds in creative fields, we've designed an eclectic interior filled with furniture we've made or lovingly restored ourselves. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from using natural materials to supporting local producers and encouraging environmentally friendly living.
