HOW TO SPEND YOUR HOLIDAY HERE?
HOW TO SPEND YOUR HOLIDAY HERE?
COMPLETE RELAXATION
I would like to relax, recharge my batteries...and enjoy the warmth of a home far away from home and the stress of everyday life. No alarm in the morning, I wake up to the sound of the river and the birds chirping. Breakfast at lunch time? Yes! Here, every day is like it was Sunday. I spend the days reading, napping in the hammock in summer, or in front of the fireplace in winter. To enjoy the benefits of nature, I take a nice walk around the village. I love ending the evenings by sharing a bottle of wine with my loved ones while having conversations we haven’t had time for in a long time. Fortunately, we don’t have to worry about getting up early the next day.
ACTIVE
I love being active and discovering the surrounding nature. I enjoy the view of the sunrise over the river from the garden. During a hearty breakfast we decide on the day's program: a hike in the picturesque landscapes of the Southern Vosges or rather a visit to a nearby town? It's difficult to choose between taking the bikes to visit the surrounding villages or swimming in the refreshing river, or taking the kayaks and discovering nature along the river. If we have enough time, maybe we can do all of this during our stay!
CULTURE & GASTRONOMY
I love discovering the cultural treasures of the regions where I stay. I consult the recommendations of our hosts before our arrival to organize our program: maybe a visit to the oldest glassworks in France, or admire the heritage of Luxeuil-les-Bains or Besançon... To discover the local gastronomy, I visit the ham drying room in Luxeuil and the Fougerolles cherry distillery and of course I will be sure to try some of the local restaurants. To dive even more into the local culture, I will ask our hosts for information on nearby events, such as craft markets, shows or concerts.
CONTACT US!
The story of Maison La Lanterne began in 2021 when we found this charming house in the Franche-Comté region. We abandoned our city life to venture into the French country life, close to nature... Our goal was to create an authentic holiday home where guests can come to rest, recharge their batteries and discover this beautiful region.
We are a couple of mixed origins, and we both come from creative fields so the eclectic style of the interior came naturally. The constantly evolving decoration and most of the furniture is made or renovated by our hands.
With sustainability being a priority in our lives, we try to encourage our guests to be as eco-friendly as possible during their stay. We will recommend local producers, provide clear instructions on how to use compost and recycling, and the use of natural cleaning products in the house.
Follow us on Instagram where we always share our renovation projects, our tips for visits and even our recipes for homemade jams, syrups, breads and cakes.
